Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Timothie Hill, founder of Timothie Hill Hair, located in Edmonton, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Timothie Hill Hair is a boutique hair salon on the main floor of the Edgehill apartments in the heart of the downtown residential neighborhood Oliver. I work alone in this beautiful bright space where I see one client at a time. My clients enjoy my classic precision haircuts that flatter their facial features and hair colors that enhance their skin tone and make their eyes stand out. I use advanced products that make the hair better conditioned than when the client came in. So they leave with healthy, beautiful hair. I am a seasoned artist with 37 years of knowledge and practice, and I pride myself on the client's overall experience, from welcoming them into the salon to sending them out the door with happy smiles on their faces. I offer rewards for loyalty and referrals and provide parking.

Tell us about yourself

I wanted to provide quality, peaceful services for clients who didn't want to be in crowded salons or people's small rooms in their homes, passing them off as salons. Some people don't mind crowded salons or basements or rooms in people's homes, and that's great. But for the people who want a boutique salon, That is what I offer.

My motivation comes from the enjoyment I get from making people happy. I listen to a client to find out what they want and work with their hair to provide them with cuts and colors that achieve their goals for their hair. I want to make people happy, so they return and send their friends:)
