What's your business, and who are your customers?
After applying eyelash extensions for more than 10 years, I decided to share the products that my clients love, putting my business in a position of success with other Lash Technicians.
Tell us about yourself
I love to see my client's reactions after looking in the mirror with their lashes done; that makes them happy and feel pretty, and that makes me want to continue doing it. But my main concern has always been that their natural lashes don't get damaged from using extensions. I spent years looking for and trying new products until I could have them all and create my own brand.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Having my own brand and listening to people saying how they and their clients love my products.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Dealing with unsatisfied clients, usually they feel this way before even entering my studio, so when this happens, I know that it doesn't matter what I do, they will complain, and not because of my work but because they are unsatisfied with life in general.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Take a class or learn as much as you can about: taxes, marketing, and customer service; you will need it!
- Do not invest your money in expensive advertisements; word of mouth is much more effective and less expensive.
- Take your time trusting your employees; no one will care about your business like you do.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Owning a business means you will have busy days with a substantial income and days with absolutely nothing, but this is normal, don't feel discouraged. Save money from the good days so you will have enough when the bad days come.
