What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an Artist- Illustrator. My business is based on my ability to draw and design. The shop offers t-shirts, photographs, artwork, cards, and my husband’s inlaid tables. For labor, I offer Hand lettering, Graphic design, illustration, and Garden consulting.

Tell us about yourself

I owned a craft shop with my Mom in Maine for many years. There I started creating t-shirts and cards. I also learned how to run a business and deal with customers.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My favorite is to see the excitement and smiles when people see my art creations. The biggest accomplishment is the pride I feel in a job well done.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The pandemic was a tough one. I had just moved my studio/shop to a new location, and It has been slow getting people to visit the shop, and I do have limited hours.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Learn business accounting and how to run a business. Be friendly and reliable. Enjoy your business and what you do.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Keep learning new technology and trends to help the business, and yourself grow. I am now illustrating Children's books, and I love this direction.
