What's your business, and who are your customers?

CK Fitness exists to help busy professionals build strength & gain confidence. We do this through structured and personalized workouts along with simplified nutrition. No detailed and complicated dieting- we focus on a nutritional approach that can be implemented long-term. Working with couples is something that we love to do. Our CK Fitness Duos program helps couples (or two friends) build strength and burn fat together. We all need accountability. Why not get fit together!?

Tell us about yourself

Growing up, I played several sports and always loved the training aspect of it. But, after I broke my leg from a snowboarding accident, I went through physical therapy, and my interest in learning about the human body skyrocketed! Alongside that, I was always a weak and scrawny kid, which led me to find a passion for strength training and bodybuilding. I wanted to build a body that I could be proud of.

Now, I help others who struggle with their body image by teaching them how to exercise, eat well, and live a healthy lifestyle so they can be confident in their body too! For me, the biggest accomplishment anyone can have is mastering a craft in order to help others accomplish their goals.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My greatest accomplishments have been when I have seen my clients go above and beyond to exceed their goals. It's inspiring to me when I hear my clients say, "You changed our lives, and we couldn't have done this without you." I then reminded them that they were the ones that did the work while I was just a guide and partner in the process. Sharing and celebrating the accomplishments of my clients makes me keep coming in each day to help the next person.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is continuing to push and grind day after day, even when you feel like things aren't working as they should. As if you should be further along. As if your clients should be hitting their goals sooner. As if you're running on a metaphoric treadmill getting nowhere fast. Showing up each day no matter what.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get a mentor and work under them for as long as you need to before branching out on your own.
  2. Never stop learning. As soon as you think you know it all, you really know nothing.
  3. Plan times for rest and breaks. You need to refuel and rest. God didn't design us to go-go-go and never rested and reap.
