Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rachel Moore, Founder of Coach with Rachel, located in Seattle, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a therapist, personal development coach, and host of the Superself podcast. The coaching work I do empowers women to overcome obstacles, reach their potential, and create fulfilling lives. The Superself podcast provides practical advice and expert tips on wealth and well-being to help listeners unleash their inner "superself" and lead happier, healthier, and longer lives.

Tell us about yourself

I do this work because I am passionate about empowering people to become their best selves and create fulfilling lives. I believe that everyone has the potential to achieve their goals and overcome their challenges, but sometimes they need guidance and support to do so. Drawing on my extensive experience as a therapist and personal development coach, I provide evidence-based strategies that help clients and listeners improve their mindset, overcome limiting beliefs, and develop healthy habits. By helping people prioritize their well-being and personal growth, my aim is to create a positive impact on the world and help others lead better lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a personal development coach, one of my proudest accomplishments is having provided over 10,000 hours of coaching to help my clients achieve their personal and professional goals. Witnessing the success of my clients is incredibly rewarding, and knowing that I have played a part in their journey fills me with pride. Their success often has a positive ripple effect on their personal and professional relationships, and that's what motivates me to continue my work. This achievement is a testament to the effectiveness of my coaching techniques and the hard work and dedication of my clients.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being a business owner with more ideas than time to execute them all can be incredibly challenging. It's not uncommon for entrepreneurs to have a wealth of ideas but limited time and resources to bring them to fruition. Balancing the desire to pursue new opportunities and expand the business with the practicalities of day-to-day operations can be a juggling act. Focusing on prioritizing the most important and feasible ideas can help, but it can still be difficult to put aside exciting new possibilities. Ultimately, it requires discipline, strategic planning, and sometimes seeking support from others to effectively manage a business with a surplus of ideas.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Build your own path: Don't be afraid to break away from conventional rules and build your business in a way that feels authentic to you. When I started Coach with Rachel, I didn't follow many traditional business norms, but I found success through hard work and dedication to my unique vision.
  2. Pursue your passion: It's crucial to have a genuine passion for the service, product, or outcome you're working towards when starting a business. As a personal development coach, I have seen firsthand the importance of committing to your passion. Without a genuine interest in what you're doing, it can be challenging to stay motivated and dedicated to your business.
  3. Embrace flexibility and adaptability: Starting a small business can be unpredictable, and it's important to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances. You may need to adjust your business strategy or pivot your offerings based on customer feedback or market trends. Having a growth mindset and being open to change can help you stay agile and resilient as you navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
