Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Frenchie Ferenczi, Founder of Frenchie Ferenczi Strategies, located in New York, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Frenchie Ferenczi Strategies offers growth and marketing consulting for overwhelmed (but seriously ambitious) experts and creatives.

Tell us about yourself

After 10+ years working in startups (The Wing, NeueHouse), I felt like I wasn't directly influencing our communities. I was another cog, and I didn't like that, so I decided to bring corporate experience to experts and creatives. I'm motivated by every client win and by the freedom I have to decide my schedule without compromising on my ambition.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Not giving up on myself, my clients, and my values. It is hard to show up every day as though it might be your most successful day yet, especially when you've had a slow start or a dip in business. I've often shied away from the tough stuff, so I feel incredibly proud of my tenacity.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Self-regulation on the rollercoaster. The business itself will go up and down. That is inevitable, but you get to choose whether you're on the ride or operating the ride. Not letting yourself get sucked into sitting on the ride is one of the hardest but most valuable exercises you can do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Stay close to the money--if you want to make more money, make sure you're spending the majority of your time on revenue-generating activities.
  2. Don't wait for answers; find answers--the more you wait, the more you wait. The only way to know if something is going to work is by trying. Do more, think less.
  3. Data + Feelings=the right answer. This is a bit of a DBT skill, but getting familiar with the overlap between facts and emotions can help you make the best decisions.
