What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Christian Business Growth Strategist & Clarity Coach. I help smart entrepreneurial-spirited Christian women in a place of transition in business, trapped in indecision and lacking clarity, go from distraction with so many ideas they are overwhelmed and confused to clarify which ideas to focus on and decide the direction to go, so they can experience satisfaction and be confident they are making the right choices to follow God's calling.

Tell us about yourself

The coaching business I have now grew out of a long line of events and opportunities God placed in my path after I was no longer teaching (that's another story). I walked into work with Christian women entrepreneurs by first selling faith-based products to creating a networking/mastermind group (so I could 'sell' to my ideal clients), to then creating business, communication, and faith workshops, to now having an entire coaching program that helps women see their businesses as their way to serve God.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is creating a community of entrepreneurial women who understand one another, connect with one another, and are there for support and encouragement. As believers, we have to find one another to do the things God is asking us to do through our businesses. The marketplace can be brutal, and we need to know someone has our back. I can teach content creation, writing a business plan, niching down your ideal client avatar, and other business strategies, but seeing someone succeed knowing there are women who are there for her is more of an accomplishment than seeing the Ahas when learning happens.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing I have found being an entrepreneur/ business owner is the level of risk it really takes to do well and have success. You really have to be able to try something, fail miserably at it, pick yourself up, learn from the experience, and try something new. I think many people who get into business do not have the resilience it takes to keep going.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know God's design of you so you can create a business that is perfect for you. If it is not, you will not have the energy or tenacity to continue to work consistently.
  2. Set realistic goals and break them down into actionable steps that can be done in a timely manner by creating daily habits that build toward the overall vision for your business.
  3. Keep God as the CEO (Chief Everything Officer) of your business. Make sure to have that daily meeting with Him. Do not neglect your best resource for ideas and success strategies.
