Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jimmie Stephens, Founder of School of Marriage and Relationship, located in Fairburn, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Marriage counseling and coaching. Couples that are challenged in the area of communication.

Tell us about yourself

I first started over 18 years ago in ministry, helping individuals in their daily life challenges. Later, I started counseling couples, helping them navigate the challenges of communication. I struggled in this area of my marriage for some time, so I could relate. I shared what I had learned and put it into practice. I love what I do because a lot of times, we are unaware of our past trauma and pain and how it has a deep impact on our current relationships. When I see a couple get it, it is everything to me. I know then that their experience with each other will change for the better.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing couples who are already separated and living apart reconcile.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Structure and having a system of marketing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a process that is automated.
  2. Always look for a better way to give your customers a great experience.
  3. Have more than one way of acquiring lead generation.
