What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Certified Hypnotherapist and Intuitive Coach who specializes in helping ambitious women worldwide tap into the power of their subconscious mind to clear the limiting beliefs and programs keeping them stuck, so they can manifest their biggest desires and create lasting positive change. My clients are women who are mainly business owners on their spiritual journey and who have big goals for the next level of their careers, relationships, money, and lives.

Through my expertise in subconscious programming and the power of the mind, her 1:1 hypnotherapy programs help my clients connect to this inner power to manifest all the abundance and success that life has to offer. My podcast, "High Vibin' It," gives weekly guidance, tips, and inspiration for creating an abundant, fulfilling life, and speaks to an audience of 40,000 monthly listeners.

Tell us about yourself

Growing up in Michigan, I was always the weird kid who loved walking around in cemeteries and being in nature. I was always fascinated by "the unseen" and the metaphysical side of being human. I was always reading books about ghosts, reincarnation, and UFOs.

I studied Forensic Psychology and Criminology in college but quickly decided it was "too dark" for me. Around the same time, my sister gave me a book about a hypnotherapist who takes his clients to the “life between life” state to explore their soul journeys. That book changed me. I couldn't explain it then, but something lit up within me and clicked into place.

Within a year from then, at 20, I saved up enough money and moved to Los Angeles, where I felt I could start my life on my terms. And I did! I worked in retail management to pay the bills, and I met my husband, who I married in 2012. When our son was seven months old, I started thinking about returning to work. My husband was working two jobs, and I wanted to contribute, but I also wanted to stay home and be with my son. Going back to working 50 hours weekly as a retail manager was not an option for me.

So I asked myself, at 27 years old, “what do I want to do with my life?” Immediately, the book my sister gave me almost ten years ago, “Destiny of Souls,” popped into my head. I felt that excitement again and thought, "I want to do THAT! I'll be a hypnotherapist!" And right after that, another deflating voice said, "Nahh, that’s for other people to do... you have a new baby. You have to do the safe thing..." My shoulders got heavy at that moment because I knew the "logic" voice had a point. Who was I to do something that big? Then the sparkly excitement came back as I thought, “But wait, why can’t I?”

Everyone who had ever done anything extraordinary had to start right here, at this moment. So I let my excitement lead me instead of my fear, and I made the call. After a year of training and clinical residency, I graduated with honors. I started my business while working as an instructor in my institute's distance department, which I did for five years. Since then, I've helped thousands of clients and students to take back their inner power, manifest their goals, and discover their soul journey through hypnotherapy through my client programs, courses, or podcast. I now have a thriving practice doing what I love and living my soul purpose. I also had two MORE sons, and we recently relocated to Nevada.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is overcoming my fears and limiting beliefs to expand and grow. I know I have the tools and resilience to overcome any obstacle. It's not easy work, but I'm constantly improving and helping others do so too!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is learning to be ok with uncertainty. Not easy for a recovering "control enthusiast" like me! A "sure thing" does not exist when you own a business. It is a practice of inspired experimentation. It is a test of trust in yourself and in the Universe or Divine that you're in the right place at the right time, and you don't always have to figure out every step forward. Sometimes you have to take the NEXT right step and allow the path to unfold!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. What worked for them may not work for you, and that's ok! Try different methods and techniques. You will find what works for you and feels good to you. I wish someone had told me this early on! It would have saved me a lot of confusion and discouragement!
  2. Just start! Done is always better than perfect. Just be authentic, and the right people will find you and resonate with you!
  3. Visualize your goals every day! If you can see your goals in your mind and spend time there, even just for a few minutes daily, you'll be so much more motivated and inspired to make them happen, AND you'll attract them faster! Win-win!
