Tell us about yourself

I joined this volunteer organization at the start of the pandemic, helping professionals that god laid off due to COVID with free resume reviews and job-search advice. A few people I helped ended up landing new jobs and, after doing this volunteering for a month, decided to see if I could turn it into a business, and I have been doing this for over two years.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helped clients land jobs when they were struggling without my help.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Consistent lead generation.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start on one channel only; get some success with it before moving to something else.
  2. You need to be a content creator in this day and age if you want any shot at building a successful business.
  3. Stick with it; I've seen too many solopreneurs give up too soon. It takes five years to build a successful business, yet many people give up after a year or 2.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Always re-invest into your business and try to live as frugal as possible, so you have more money to spend on your business.
