What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tell us about yourself
I started out working in finance and did that for almost a decade. I didn't like finance all that much, but I had the opportunity to work in leadership and learn about coaching in that role which I discovered I liked a lot. In 2008, I found myself out of work and decided that I wanted to work with leaders and support them in creating great work environments for their teams. This is what led me to start New Work Revolution.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In a sea of business coaches and consultants, my biggest accomplishment was learning more about my strengths and what makes me unique. This has allowed us to stay in business and create a lot of great outcomes for our clients.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Figuring out who you are and how to convey that to your ideal customer. That took a lot more time and effort than I anticipated. In addition to that, surviving the financial uncertainty and starting a business from scratch.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get a great handle on who you are and how you deliver the most value.
- Develop and build relationships to support you.
- Approach your growth fearlessly if you don't play full out. No one else around you is going to save you.
