Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Dashia Andrews, Founder of She's On Purpose, located in McDonough, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

She's on Purpose is aimed at helping people discover their purpose and passions to help build a prosperous life. We serve those individuals who feel unfulfilled in life and want to make a deeper impact and build a legacy for their families. Through a combination of purpose, life, and business coaching and courses, we help the average person find a greater connection to their power and place in this world.

Tell us about yourself

I am an experienced educator, author of over four books, researcher, program developer, and non-profit executive with over 17 years of demonstrated history of working in the education industry and serving our most at-promise families.

After going through 72 foster homes without losing my zeal for life, having my first child at 13, navigating several traumas, and then becoming a successful educator, I still felt unfulfilled and lost. I knew then that I had to figure out what all this life was for, my purpose here. It was on that journey that I realized that I couldn't be alone in how I was feeling. I made a vow that when I successfully navigated my way through that, I would help as many people as possible do the same, and seven years ago, he's on Purpose was birthed.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business owner, I feel my most successful is that out of the 720 coaching clients I've serviced, 93% of them have discovered their purpose and gone on to live happier lives and build successful six and 7-figure-a-year businesses.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner for me is being able to give myself the time I need to enjoy accomplishments. We can sometimes get so caught up in doing the work we forget that celebration is necessary and will keep you inspired to keep going. Another hard thing is making sure you have proper systems in place to help you scale and grow your business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top three tips I would offer are:

  1. Don't try to do everything on your own forever. Focus on what only you can do and pay others to do the rest, i.e., an assistant.
  2. Create duplicatable systems that can keep your business running without you being present all the time.
  3. Enjoy the journey; you learn the most on the journey, not at the destination.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I'd like to add life and business require you to be emotionally attached to the vision you have for your life. This is what keeps you going when things get difficult. Be very clear about the ultimate vision you have for your life and business, get emotionally attached to it, and don't let anything stand in the way of accomplishing that, not even yourself.
