Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Alexis Turner, Founder of Sincerely Nature, located in Memphis, TN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have a holistic health company where I offer herbal medicine, handcrafted products, and online workshops for those interested in herbal remedies. I also show people how to make their own natural hygiene and household cleaning products. My customers are mostly women suffering from PCOS, fibroids, irregular cycles & infertility!

Tell us about yourself

I actually started off as a Holistic Nutritionist. I specialized in incorporating herbs in meals to assist people who were diabetic and who had hypertension. Herbal remedies were something that I always made for myself and my family. I started sharing my journey about overcoming PCOS and infertility on social media in 2021, and it went viral. This was when I started offering women a blend of roots and herbs that I crafted in 2018, known as my Wombman Wellness Tea. I had no idea this blend that I made for myself and a few of my meal prep clients would be the product that changed my life. It is my number one seller and is helping so many women balance their hormones naturally! The hormone imbalance results in better overall health, especially in the womb. I'm so proud.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is helping women who were told they couldn't conceive because of PCOS or Endometriosis conceive naturally. Anytime a woman shares this information with me, I literally have to pause and take it all in before responding. This is because it's personal to me. I know exactly how it feels to be told you can't conceive! My husband and I tried for nearly five years. It wasn't until I started making lifestyle changes, such as using natural products and taking my Wombman Wellness Tea, that I conceived!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Filing my taxes! Hahahaa! Seriously, I can't think of anything! I absolutely love what I do. It doesn't feel like a job. I wake up every day ready to help women overcome their issues. I look forward to making big batches of Wombman Wellness Tea and just serving my people.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Mind your business. Don't compete with anyone. You are exactly where you need to be. Don't think you have to rush out and get a brick-and-mortar. Definitely don't do it for social media, do it for yourself and the people you're serving.
  2. There is absolutely nothing wrong with continuing to work your job until your business is established enough.
  3. Having a team is important! It is the best thing you can do for yourself!
Another tip: Don't start a business unless you love it! Don't ask for an influx of business unless you are prepared! Don't focus on negative feedback on social media. Instead, focus on the love! You'll vibrate higher if you focus on that.
